John Prine in Maui March 27, 2020 7:00pm – 11:30pm Singer-songwriter, John Prine is heading to Hawaii in March to perform on Oahu and Maui. Known as America’s folk troubadour, John is continuing his “Tree of Forgiveness Tour” with stops…
The second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands, Maui is world-renowned for its beaches and amazing nightlife. A quick day trip from Oahu, Maui offers adventures suitable for every kind of traveler.
One of the most recommended activities on Maui is a trip to snorkel at Molokini Crater. A submerged volcanic crater located off the coast, this snorkeling trip is regularly rated as one of the best in the world. Nature and wildlife abound, as Molokini is a seabird sanctuary and a marine preserve. Stopping at Turtle Island is also unforgettable – honu, or Hawaiian sea turtles, populate this side of the island and seeing one of these giant, majestic animals slowly swimming through the light and shadows in the water is magical.
Surfing Maui is a great way to burn off the decadent island buffets and friendly local “surf bums” give reasonably priced semi-private lessons. The sheltered beaches offer gentle waves that won’t overwhelm new surfers. After a full day of activity, a sunset cruise is the perfect conclusion. Sipping a tropical drink and watching the island coast drift by will let you unwind and reflect on island culture. The tired but fulfilled feeling that comes from playing hard after working hard to get there is the most satisfying in the world.
